Lower East Side artist and curator Marcus GlitteriS and Director Crystal Field present "Solo With Friends", a visual art exhibition that centers the community at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue, from July 5–August 5.

The exhibition reminisces on the spirit of the 1980s downtown, Lower East Side and East Village community art scene and its galleries such as The Fun Gallery and The Mudd Club, where artists would come together and share each other's works.

The salon-style exhibition, taking up the entirety of the Theater's lobby, will display work by over 60 local artists as well as new and recent paintings by MarcusGlitteriS. Here, the old school meets the new school, featuring contemporary artists such as Al Díaz, Rick Prol, LA2, Clayton Patterson, Brett Depalma, Hektad, R.W.K., and SacSix, among others.

The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 5, and will feature a live performance by FannnSystem.
